Lucía (Delfina Varni) is a little girl who loses a tooth. Her mother and father reassure her about the fate of her tooth: as is traditional, the Hairy Tooth Fairy (in the form of a debonair mouse named Pérez) will come and collect it, and leave some money in its place.
What Lucía doesn’t know is that there is a very complex but rewarding “recycling” system for baby teeth, created by Pérez. He collects them, then hundreds of other little mice clean, shape and polish them into pearls, which are then traded to a jeweler named Morientes, who exchanges them for their weight in gold. This gold, of course, is what Pérez leaves for the children - it’s perfect. But just as he’s about to collect Lucía’s tooth, Pérez is kidnapped by scoundrels who wish to hijack the fortune. Lucía, along with her cousin Ramiro, must rescue him…
Director Juan Pablo Buscarini is well known for his special skills in the area of visual effects - and he puts them to excellent use in this rollicking story - but the state-of the- art CGI is well matched by the energy of the live performers, to ensure an adventurous tale for all ages, with more than a little touch of magic.
