Welcome to the 2007 Spanish Film Festival website. From May 16th-27th, the Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary by presenting the largest programme of Spanish cinema ever screened in Melbourne. This year's selection is another diverse and exceptional overview of today's Spanish film production, with 18 new features, 4 documentaries, a special retrospective and 2 programmes of short films. Spain as a filmmaking centre continues to branch out, working with other countries through co-productions, and the 2007 Festival is proud to be presenting films co-produced with Brasil, Argentina and Perú.
Opening Night Spanish Fiesta! Join us at 7.00pm on Wednesday May 16th at Palace Cinema Como, for the Australian Premiere of CROSSING BORDERS (Un Franco Catorce Pesetas), the joyously entertaining comedy from writer-director (and revered comedian) Carlos Iglesias, built around the true-life journey of two luckless Spaniards. Help us to celebrate this special anniversary year!
